Guest Blogger: Stephanie Boyne, Certified Fitness Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor
Aside from the many awesome aspects of my job, I get to blog. I like to feature different vendors, brides, my staff, etc., and this time I want to feature someone who has her own awesome business who also happens to be my friend. She is down to earth, real, funny, and she gets it.
One of her passions is fitness and I want to feature her now because 1) it’s bridal season and 2) every day I hear women say, “Well, I’m going to lose weight for the wedding.”
I’m writing this blog so you can actually do that – not only for the wedding, but for long after.
Stephanie Boyne has taught group fitness classes for the past 14 years at LaCrest, the YMCA, and for the past four years she’s been at Cornerstone teaching large groups and small Tribe groups. She’s seen a lot over those years and one thing is universal. When lives become too busy, one of the first things that falls by the wayside is a fitness regimen.
In her next installment in her journey to the aisle, Kathleen gives some good insight and information on a very important part of the event… the food. From the h’ors d’oeuvres to the desserts, soup to nuts, this takes serious thought and planning. Read on to find out how she is doing with this part of the process!
Planning your wedding requires thoughtfulness regarding the theme and tone you want to set, and it’s going to start with your Save the Date cards.
Whether you are having your wedding on a tropical island, a formal grand ballroom, a funky winery, or at home with your family members including the furry ones, sitting down with someone like Heather Dombrowski, owner of Pretty Ink Press, LLC, will allow you to thoughtfully plan this announcement piece, as well as your invitations, with your wedding guests.
Wedding dress shopping. When a bride hears this, it may evoke any number of emotions. For the most part this will be excitement and joy, yet, for some the process overwhelms. As a bride-to-be working for Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo I have now been on both sides of the experience. I love being able to relate to our brides so closely!
I am a year out from my wedding and yes, I already have my dress!
Mark and I met in January 2013 in physical therapy school at Temple when both of our classes were at a conference in San Diego and have been together since then.
August 8th, 2015 in LBI. I absolutely thought he was going to propose the night before since we were going to have dinner at our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia and was pretty bummed when I was wrong! But little did I know, both of our families were totally in on the surprise for the proposal to happen in LBI where Mark’s parents own a beach house. My parents and sister had planned to come down to LBI for the weekend and my mom suggested that we take “family photos by the beach” before dinner. This was actually the ploy to get everyone to the beach for Mark to pop the question.
We are so happy to feature our very own Kathleen Smith as she travels the road of a bride-to-be! This is such a great perspective – she is an engaged bridal and formalwear consultant for our Bucks County bridal store, so she is living and working the whole bridal experience for another 11 months.
Her first installment features the emotions surrounding the best day of her life (so far) – her engagement. Read on for a whole bunch of “Awwww” moments!
Best Day of My Life; the Day I Got Engaged
I am a bridal and formalwear consultant at Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo, a Bucks County bridal store, and helping brides and grooms find the perfect outfit for their big day is truly a privilege. I get to hear their stories and talk about their wedding plans. It’s so much fun and now I’d love to share my story as a bride-to-be.
As I think about the day I got engaged I can’t help but feel giddy; at no other time in my life have I felt more excitement.
Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo was fortunate enough to catch up with Scott Slobotkin, owner of David Jay Jewelers in Warrington, PA. We chatted with him regarding engagement rings, wedding bands, wedding rings, jewelry trends, and the process of choosing the right jeweler for your wedding day. Scott is incredibly knowledgeable and below shares his experience and insight into the world of bridal jewelry.
Enjoy our blog from this trusted jeweler!
Tell us about your company’s background.
David Jay Jewelers was founded in 1974 as one of the Philadelphia area’s premier all-inclusive jewelers. We are a second generation family run business where Jay Slobotkin still works alongside me in the beautiful Valley Square boutique in Warrington, PA.
We met Daneene Jensen almost four years ago at a bridal show when she offered to do our models’ hair and makeup as a demonstration. It was brilliant. It worked for us to have our models looking amazing and for her to show her incredible skills. In about 20 minutes she turned one from pretty to Vogue photo shoot.
Her company, Daneene Jensen and Associates, is everything you want for your wedding day hair and make up. She’s featured in Philly in Love, Borrowed and Blue, and Style Me Pretty, and is a Hall of Fame vendor on the Knot with 296 5-star reviews.
I am so proud to know her and refer her as a professional stylist and genuinely caring, lovely woman. Read on to learn more about Daneene Jensen and her work!
