Renting a tuxedo or suit for your wedding day? We are glad you found us, and our comprehensive guide, to give you an understanding of our suit and tux rental process for your wedding attire!
Chances are you have not looked into a tuxedo rental for a while. Maybe the last time was your senior prom. Now you’re getting married, and styles and options have really changed for formal events since then. In addition, it is not only about the dress anymore. Finding the right wedding tuxedo for the Groom is a very important part of the wedding planning process!

Providing the perfect suit and tuxedo styles for our Grooms and their wedding parties is a detail that our team takes great pride in. It is especially exciting if the bride said yes to her wedding dress with us, too.
Here’s how it works:
The Introductory Appointment – The Couple
About six to nine months before the big day, we have you – the engaged couple – come in for an introductory appointment. This is an hour dedicated to you.
Your personal preference is immensely important when it comes to your wedding theme. This is your wedding and while we can and have accommodated large groups, we suggest just the two of you come in to the initial appointment. We encourage you to bring photos, a Pinterest board, or have an idea of what your personal style or aesthetic is for the wedding day. For instance:
- Do you plan to wear a suit or a tuxedo?
- Are you picturing a classic black tuxedo or a color?
- Are groom and groomsmen in the same thing?
Not sure? Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo rents thousands of tuxedos and suits every year and we have a lot of experience guiding couples in finding the perfect tuxedo. We have a lot of experience with formal black tie weddings as well as less formal groomsmen suits for destination weddings.
In the initial meeting, couples learn that they can choose to:
- have the same suit or tuxedo for the groom and groomsmen
- differentiate the groom from the groomsmen by using accessory details, such as different tie colors, pocket squares, etc.
- have the groom wear a completely different tuxedo
It’s your day; it’s your choice.

From there, we show different styles of actual tuxedos and suits. This allows you to see the quality of the fabric, the true color, and how the formal attire feels. This makes it easy to determine the perfect look for your entire wedding party.
Note: If you come in without a color scheme or a plan, you may be overwhelmed with choices. It is best to have some idea whether it is a formal wedding or casual, your color pallet, season, etc. to help narrow the choices.
When you determine your preferred looks, we will then measure the groom and order these in for his Groom Try On appointment. This is an easy appointment to set up. You can do this at the initial appointment, or by calling or texting us about 3 – 4 business days in advance so we can have everything ready for you.
When you say yes to the tux, you sign the jacket, just like our brides sign the dress!

Trying On The Tuxedo
The next step is what we call a full Groom Try-On. Our groom try ons are one of the favorite services that we provide to grooms. Why? Because you get to choose up to two different tuxedo and/or suit styles, shirts, vests, shoes and several different long tie and/or bow ties. You will see your selections in person, in his exact size!
While we have all of our 61 styles of suits and customers in our store to see, there is nothing better than trying everything on in your exact size, accessories included.
The groom gets to play dress up as if it’s his wedding day. Often, the couple chooses items that both the groom and groomsmen will be wearing. This is the easiest way for the bride and groom to see what the groom and the groomsmen will look like.
You can take pictures and gauge how you feel in the tuxedos or suits and various accessories that you selected.
Take Your Time When Renting A Tuxedo or Suit!
If you’re not sure after the try-on, take some time to view the pictures you took and talk it over. As a family business that has always created a relaxed and fun atmosphere, we are proud to encourage taking photographs so that you can look at them later to make a decision. We think taking pictures is a good rule of thumb, just like when shopping for wedding dresses. This way you can determine your perfect look, at your leisure, and be 100% confident when you say Yes to the Tux!
Confirmation
Once you make your final selections, we will confirm your order. We recommend having your final choices made by 3 – 4 weeks before the wedding.
While many customers make their choices months in advance, we offer this flexibility to our customers to make sure they land on their best option. Since all of our styles are often in the store at any given time, some brides and grooms stop by to take a look at the styles again so that they can make sure they are choosing the right suit. Most however, text us a photo that they took during the groom try on to confirm their style choices.
Many brides and grooms are so ready to make a decision at the conclusion of the groom try on and tell us what the groom, groomsmen, ring bearer and fathers will be wearing.

Once the bride and groom see the groom in the actual suit or tuxedo, it often is a no-brainer as to what is the right look. When everything is confirmed, you will have the peace of mind that the guys will have formal wear that will make them look their best on your wedding date.
Round Up Your Groomsmen
Now’s the time you tell the groomsmen, “Go get measured! Or else…”

We suggest that you give your groomsmen a deadline to get measured. Having everyone measured at least 3 – 4 weeks before the wedding is enough time. Some like to have the guys measured months in advance. As long as the person is not changing substantially in size, being measured months in advance is not an inconvenience.
If the groom or groomsman know that they will be changing in size (increased gym activity, special diet, medications, etc), then it may be more prudent to wait to get measured closer to the wedding. Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo does guarantee the sizing, even offering a free replacement with adequate notice.
Out-Of-Town Groomsmen – We Ship!
Whether your wedding party members are in or out of town, they can have their measurements easily taken anywhere! All we need is the out-of-town guest’s zip code to find stores who will measure in his area.
Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo will arrange to get any out-of-town guests measured near their home or work for free, then submit their measurements to us online. It’s a very convenient service and we can even ship the out-of-town guests the tuxedo or suit rental so he can try it on in advance before the wedding.

For all of the guys located in the Philadelphia region, you can send them to Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo to get measured. We take about 10 minutes to measure so they are in and out quickly and painlessly! Often, the Philly-area guys make a day of it and make an appointment to get measured at our store as a group. It’s a fun time with lots of laughs. After getting measured, they often go out for a beer and a meal. Always lots of memories and great fun!
Our sizing runs from 3B to 70 in most of our rental options while some styles are available to 80 to ensure the right fit for everyone.
When Can We Pick Up?
Your rental items generally arrive the week leading up to the wedding and well in advance of your event. We notify everyone to come try on right away. Trying on early is the most important thing so we have ample time to ensure the perfect fit should any adjustments be necessary.
Most people are notified by text message. If preferred, we can call the person to let him know that his rental is ready for pick up. We often prefer text messaging to alleviate the problem of those with a full voicemail, no voicemail or those who do not check their voicemail. Believe us, after thousands of rentals every year, we’ve learned thing or two about communicating with customers. Texting has always been the best way!
Insist every groomsmen try on the full tuxedo or suit in the store. We assist in adjusting and making sure everything looks perfect. Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo also has a full time seamstress on staff, so alterations like pant or sleeve length can often be made while you wait.
