Wedding Dress Trends For 2025: Lace, Princess, & More

Wedding dress trends change every season and it is important to keep current. There are a few styles and fabrics that never go out of style. However, those same styles and fabrics can have a twist, a kick, or a pop that makes them hot for the season!

Being the manager of a bridal store, I see A LOT of dresses – in person at bridal market, in photos from model shoots, trunk shows, and dresses our brides show us from online. One of my favorite parts of my job is compiling photos and Pinterest boards for our incoming brides to prepare for their appointments. I love seeing what silhouettes and styles brides are being drawn to, and what wedding dress trends our brides are falling in love with!

Of course, while every bride has her own personal style and a unique vision for her wedding day, there are trends from our bridal collections that certainly take hold.

Here are the newest 2025 wedding dress trends I am seeing among Darianna® brides:

1. The Return of Lace

Lace is back and bigger than ever! Brides are loving lace for its classic romantic look and for its ability to elevate a dress. It lends itself well to different themes, from rustic vineyard weddings to sophisticated city soirées. Lace can be the dress’s statement feature or delicately layered, adding depth and texture that photographs beautifully.

One lace dress our brides are falling in love with is the Essense of Australia D4007. This stunning a-line wedding gown has gorgeous leaf and vine lace atop a layer of glitter tulle, and is perfect for a variety of wedding locations!

Another lacy gown that has been popular among our brides is the Jackson gown by Sophia Tolli. Jackson is a fit and flare with gorgeous floral lace appliqués that shimmer in the sunlight.

Whether it’s a delicate Chantilly lace or bold, intricate patterns, these gowns are absolutely making a come back after a long hiatus!

2. Simple Dresses with Detailed Accents

Think “less is more” with a twist! Minimalist designs are still going strong, but with intricate details that bring them to life. Picture sleek, simple silhouettes — A-line, column, or slip dresses — but with a surprise element like a delicate beaded belt, a lace back, or an eye-catching neckline.

This look is perfect for brides who want something with modern sophistication without giving up that “wow” factor.

Evie Young Nina is a gown that our brides are going crazy over! Nina is a crepe, sheath gown that is mostly simple with clean lines, but has a cuffed pearl neckline with matching off the shoulder sleeves, a detachable scattered pearl long sleeve, and a scattered pearl cape. This gown packs a punch without adding too much detail into the mix.

Darianna® brides are also loving style 7711 by Stella York. This strapless mikado ballgown exudes simplistic elegance from the front with its scooped neckline and box pleating, but from the back it is transformed with the addition of beaded corseting atop an illusion back. The final touch is a regal triple layered detachable bow! She is a modern day princess wedding gown, and ball gown wedding dresses are back, too.

Be prepared to see brides donning simple dresses with a touch of flair at their 2025 weddings!

3. Detachable Long Sleeves

Who doesn’t love a dress with options? One of the biggest wedding dress trends I am seeing are detachable sleeves. This option lets you create two looks in one gown, making it easier than ever to go from a formal ceremony look to a party-ready reception style. We’re seeing a mix of sleeve styles, too: long lace, billowy tulle, or even fitted, beaded sleeves that you can remove for your dance floor debut. It’s the perfect solution for brides who want flexibility in their style!

One of our bride-favorite gowns with detachable long sleeves is Tucker by Madi Lane! She has not been in our store very long but is immediately stealing hearts. This lacy a-line bridal look has a little bit of everything – lace, sparkle, and romance! Her sleeves attach at the shoulder and give the bride the option to completely change up her look, or make her more functional for an outdoor Fall ceremony with a warmer indoor reception.

For a fitted option, Morilee Rhapsody is a knockout! Rhapsody is a fit and flare with a sweetheart neckline, glitter layer, and all over medallion Venice lace. This dress is perfect for weddings of all seasons, but the addition of her matching lace sleeves completely transforms the dress into the perfect choice for a Fall or Winter wedding!

4. Vintage Lace Returns As A Wedding Dress Trend

Vintage-inspired lace is having a major moment, with designs reminiscent of the glamorous looks from the ’20s through ’60s. These gowns have an old-world charm, blending delicate lace with classic cuts and intricate details. The magic of vintage lace is in the nostalgia it brings, so if you’re aiming for a romantic, vintage-inspired wedding, these gowns and their intricate lace details have your name all over them!

One of our staff (and bride) favorite dresses in store right now is Trina by Madi Lane. This gown is absolutely gorgeous with her off the shoulder long sleeves, delicate shimmer, and soft Chantilly lace layers. She is the perfect creation of modern elegance and pays homage to vintage dresses of yesteryear.

Very similar to Trina is a gown from Madi Lane’s sister brand, Evie Young! Roxanne has the same delicate Chantilly lace but put into a gorgeous sheath gown. She features a Basque waist, a draped scoop neckline, and detachable long bicep sleeves.

Late 2025 and 2026 brides should expect to see tons of vintage lace patterns while shopping for their dresses next year!

Wedding Dress Trends: Details & Theme Dresses

Bow embellishments, oversized bows, and basque waist wedding dresses are very on-trend right now. Pearl details in veils and sleeves are trending still. We saw high neckline bridal dresses in various styles and silhouettes walking the runway at bridal fashion week.

Black wedding dresses continue to gain in popularity for the Gothic and Dark Enchanted Forest themes, or for those brides who are simply not the white wedding dress type. Darianna® Bridal & Tuxedo has our very popular 3rd annual black wedding dress show happening now! This bold look is a great way to make your day your own. High fashion and luxurious fabrics are not only for traditional wedding dresses anymore!
