Excited to introduce one of our new Mikado A-line wedding gowns – Blythe by Kitty Chen.
One of our most popular designers since our opening in 2013, Kitty Chen creates unforgettable bridal gowns. Her signature styles continue to capture hearts with everything from long sleeve ball gowns to sexy silhouettes with couture-level detail and custom change options.
If your bridal Pinterest board is full of sleek, architectural wedding gowns with zero fuss, Blythe by Kitty Chen from the 2027 Ivoire collection is about to steal your heart.
Clean Modern Elegance & Timeless Drama
Kitty Chen is famous for theatrical lace and high-drama mermaids, but Blythe proves the designer can do crisp, flowy minimalism just as effortlessly. This gown trades heavy floral lace and busy beading for pure structure, luminous fabric, beautiful beadwork, and an expansive silhouette. Blythe lets your natural presence do all the talking.

Blythe By Kitty Chen: The Bodice
The magic of Blythe by Kitty Chen starts right at the top with a beautifully structured, tailored scooped neckline with cowl detail. Atop a bodice of exposed boning lies intricate beadwork designed to dazzle. This crystal and pearl beading adds the perfect touch of glam, and further highlights the bride’s shape by emphasizing the Basque waistline.
Constructed in rich, glowing Mikado, the bodice sculpts and defines the waist without looking stiff. The neckline frames the collarbones and décolletage with sharp, clean elegance. This creates an open, flattering canvas that feels fresh, modern, and high-fashion.
The Skirt: Volume That Floats
Below the waist, Blythe transitions into a sweeping, voluminous A-line skirt that delivers that quintessential bridal moment—without the fussy layers of tulle.
The Mikado fabric has just enough weight to hold its crisp, architectural side pleats while catching the light with a soft, radiant sheen as you walk. It skims effortlessly over the hips, giving you plenty of freedom to move, sit, and dance without feeling weighed down. It’s the kind of silhouette that commands the room the second you step into it. It gives a classic bridal royalty.

The Back: A Show-Stopping Finish
The back of Blythe is designed to make walking down the aisle just as memorable as your grand entrance:
- Covered Button Detailing: A crisp row of fabric-covered buttons runs down the back of the gown, accentuating the clean seam lines. This anchors the gown in timeless bridal tradition.
- The Train: If you love dramatic trains, Blythe delivers. Her A-line skirt flows out into a long, architectural train of pure, uninterrupted fabric. Splaying across the floor during your ceremony and portraits, it delivers all the regal drama you could want while maintaining an uncluttered, modern look.

How to Style Blythe By Kitty Chen
Because Blythe has an intricate crystal and pearl bodice with a clean skirt, it acts as the ultimate chic canvas:
- Veil Pairings: This is the dress made for a statement veil. Pair it with a pearl-studded cathedral veil to add a touch of romance, or a dramatic raw-edge drama-length veil to keep the modern look intact. For a little extra, pair a rhinestone headband or a thick pearl tiara to stay in when the veil comes out.
- Jewelry & Glam: Think chic statement drop earrings, modern bezel-set jewels, or a sleek tennis necklace. For beauty, a snatched high bun, a classic low chignon, or polished old-Hollywood glam waves complement the structured fabric perfectly.
- The Venue: Blythe is an absolute chameleon. It looks stunning against the exposed brick and steel beams of an industrial loft, completely at home in a black-tie ballroom or historic museum, and effortlessly regal at an outdoor estate.
