Featured Tuxedo: Sable Shawl Lapel Tuxedo

The Sable is a black shawl lapel tuxedo from Erik Lawerence. This one is both classic and timeless, a more budget-friendly version of our Chandler black shawl lapel tuxedo from Ike Behar, yet still quite sharp.

The full satin on the lapel, the one button and besom pockets add to the fine details of this handsome trim fit tuxedo jacket.  Of course Erik Lawrence has a matching vest in two styles: traditional, V-shaped vest and a scoop vest.

Scoop vests were from a by-gone era however, about 5% of our fashion-forward customers enjoy wearing the very different scoop vest for their wedding.  Not to worry, though if the scoop vest is not to your liking.  You can always pair the Sable with a more modern, traditional vest.

Sable Shawl Lapel Tuxedo Pants Fit

To provide you further choice, this designer has three different pants available for this tuxedo:

  • flat front trim fit
  • pleated
  • skinny fit

This is wonderful news because with those three choices, you are bound to find the fit you are looking for.  All three pairs of pants have a thin line of satin running down the side of the leg, adding a touch of elegance to your look.  Trim fit tends to be the most popular for this tuxedo.  Next, we find the fashion-forward groom enjoys wearing the more tapered skinny fit pants.  And finally, someone looking for more mobility and comfort often chooses the matching pleated pants.

Tuxedo Accessories

Once again, a black satin bow tie with non-pleated microfiber white shirt completes the look.  Silver and black studs and cuff accessories and either patent leather, shiny shoes or matte finish shoes go perfectly well with this tuxedo.

So how do you decide between the Sable shawl lapel tuxedo and the higher priced Chandler? Our suggestion is to look at both jackets in person. Touching the fabrics of each tuxedo will most likely tell you immediately which one you prefer most. And of course, if you have a budget, that alone may help you determine which is the best tuxedo rental for you.

While shawl lapel tuxedos are not as popular as notch and peak lapel jackets, we do find customers who want to be different renting this type of sleek looking tuxedo.
