We met Daneene Jensen almost four years ago at a bridal show when she offered to do our models’ hair and makeup as a demonstration.  It was brilliant.  It worked for us to have our models looking amazing and for her to show her incredible skills.  In about 20 minutes she turned one from pretty to Vogue photo shoot.

Her company,  Daneene Jensen and Associates, is everything you want for your wedding day hair and make up.  She’s featured in Philly in Love, Borrowed and Blue, and Style Me Pretty, and is a Hall of Fame vendor on the Knot with 296 5-star reviews.

I am so proud to know her and refer her as a professional stylist and genuinely caring, lovely woman.  Read on to learn more about Daneene Jensen and her work!

Q:  How did you get your start in bridal hair and makeup?

A:  I worked as a hair and makeup artist in the print, film and video industry for many years.  I enjoyed it, but it was extremely demanding on the schedule with much travel involved.  When I got married, I was finding myself home only a few days a month due to the shooting schedules of the catalogs I did hair and makeup for.  When I had my first child, now 11, a photographer suggested that I get into hair and makeup for bridal parties.  I took on a few weddings the first season and decided that it was a great fit for my growing family.

Q: You have some well known clients, do you prefer bridal?

A:  Thank you!  Yes, I truly do!  I love being a part of a bride’s special day and knowing that they will likely remember us for the rest of their lives. Having a bride get teary-eyed at her trial when you turn her to face the mirror, or pop that veil on her head is one of the most touching things to witness. It is a honor to be the partial cause of that reaction.

Q: When is the best time to get a hair/makeup trial?

A:  I suggest doing it approximately 3-4 months prior to the wedding.

Q:  How long will it take for hair and makeup on the wedding day?

A:  It really depends on the client, but typically it takes our senior artists between 30 and 40 minutes per service.

Q:  Are there any “trends” or requests that just don’t work or that you would advise against?

A:  I am never a big fan of anything terribly trendy for wedding beauty.  Classic and timeless is the safest and most beautifully bridal way to go!  Have a look at our website, Facebook and Instagram pages for ideas.

Q:  What sets you apart from other stylists?

I take enormous pride in this team, and we all take enormous pride in our work.  It is equally important to me to have artists that are not only outstanding on an artistic level, but genuinely good, patient, sincere individuals who take pride in delivering the utmost level of customer service.  I worked very hard to build the reputation of my business and therefore I take extreme care in who I hire.

Every one of our team members was a direct referral from another team member.  They are kind and considerate individuals.  I value the team immensely and believe they regard me as not only their boss, but as a friend. This mutual respect between us only benefits our clientele because we all aim for Daneene Jensen & Associates to be the best in each market we serve.

Q: What is your advice to brides?

A: Referrals from friends are a great way to start your search, and reviews speak for themselves. Brides today are wedding planning in a very convenient age where you can get referrals from lots of others online. Book a team with a great reputation, then do a trial run before the wedding to insure you and your artist are in sync.

Do your homework as well…..don’t go into a trial completely lacking any direction. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get ideas of what style direction you want to go in! Take care of yourself, book your beauty team to come to you on your wedding day, kick back with a mimosa and enjoy it!

Q: For a bride looking for this service right now, what would you like to tell them about your company?

A:  Look no further! We are tried and true. This team is outstanding on every level and you will never regret choosing us.

Q: Your reviews are incredible which speaks volumes about you and your associates.  Do you focus more on continuing growth or maintaining quality?

A:  Maintaining quality- 100%. When the quality is top-notch, the growth happens automatically.

Q:  What areas do you service?

A:  We service Delaware, Montgomery County, Bucks County, Lancaster County, Lehigh Valley and the Poconos, the New Jersey shore and at times Northern New Jersey.

  1. Can I ask you… As a stylist who works exactly with wedding hairstyles.. would you consider perfectly straightened hair for a wedding hairstyle? I always see only curly and wavy hair on a wedding day … Did you have any clients who asked to make smooth straightened hair? Thank you!

    1. Although we are not directly involved with our brides’ hair styles, we often learn about hair styles when the bride comes to pick up her hair pieces and veils for her wedding hair trial before she even has her wedding dress altered. There is often healthy discussion about styles with our bridal consultants during the bridal appointment; brides often ask our advice on many wedding matters during the appointment. Many of our brides do have loose curls for their weddings. Our best advice for brides, is be yourself. We believe that your wedding day may not be the best day to do something completely different with your hair that is out of the ordinary. Straight hair has not been the norm lately; loose curls have been much more common.
