When you’re chosen to serve as the best man, you will find there are a number of responsibilities that come with the title.
Most of them are small, but still crucial to the flow of the wedding to make sure the groom can enjoy his lovely bride and their wedding without worry.
This is not to say you won’t have plenty of help. Part of of your duties is to delegate and get the other groomsmen involved.
It goes without saying your job is to help the groom in any way possible, but here are just a few things you should be thinking about as best man:
The Bachelor Party
Here’s one of your bigger tasks to take care of in your role as best man. You should make sure to keep your groom in mind when planning; this should be a party planned around his interest and wishes. You know him well, so use your knowledge to plan something he and the rest of the men will enjoy!
Handling the Rings
Another important job is keeping the couple’s rings until you hand them over in the ceremony. In some cases there will be a ring bearer, but if not then it’s your job to keep them safe. Don’t go setting them down somewhere you might forget. Keep them in your pocket until the ceremony.
Tuxedos
When it comes Bucks County, PA tuxedos, the groom may or may not enlist your help in the style decision. Once he has chosen though, it’s going to be your job to keep on top of the other groomsmen. Make sure they know where to go to get fitted, and when! It’s important that they don’t wait until last minute and you’ll save everybody from unnecessary stress. After the ceremony you should coordinate getting the tuxedos returned on time.
Other duties may include:
- Acting as the MC during the wedding reception.
- Arranging toast order, and giving a toast to the bride and groom.
- Driving the groom where he needs to go and making sure he gets there on time.
- Arranging for everything to be ready with the happy couple’s getaway vehicle!
You’re going to be the groom’s go-to man and that is an honor, so don’t take it lightly. It’s a great way to show him how much he means to you, and make sure you all have FUN!
