Last year we scouted Bastia, the upscale restaurant inside Fishtown’s Hotel Anna & Bel for a potential culinary destination for our Philadelphia dining group. We sat at a small table in their inviting cocktail lounge for drinks and bar snacks before dinner. It was a delightful experience and one of the best new restaurants we had visited. We revisited again a few months ago.
Recently our Director of Brand Development took a tour for potential recommendation to our brides and grooms for micro weddings, rehearsal dinners, and the like. The following is her account after visiting and suffice to say she had the same delightful experience that we did.
Now Center City is known for its high-end residential neighborhoods, retail shops and office buildings; South Philly is known for the Italian Market; and Fairmount is known for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Hotel Anna & Bel is a beautifully restored 18th century historic landmark building in Fishtown. Originally built as “The Mansion House” in 1769, it served as an Asylum for indigent widows and single women. It later became the “Penn Home” retirement residence, and today has been modernized to offer a one-of-a-kind urban retreat.
