Move over 2023, it is time to learn about the 2024 wedding dress trends!
Now that the new dresses are out, let’s talk about some pretty cool trends that you will be seeing walking down the aisle this year… but first, let’s take a peek at our new staff favorite dresses!
2024 Wedding Dress Trends
Bows:
Bows are VERY in for the 2024 bride! We had so many requests for detachable bows, hair bows, and bow straps. Some dresses that our brides loved this year were Madi Lane Jaden with a back neckline that ties into an elegant, satin bow.
A newer addition to the store with the detachable bow option is WToo Dee! This pre-tied bow is attached to the back by a clip for brides who want a little bit of drama but want to dance the night away without the added fabric. Both of these dresses also have the very own trend straight cuff neckline:
Hair bows have been especially in demand for brides for their bachelorette parties, and the crowd favorite has been a clip-in tulle bow with scattered pearls from EnVogue Bridal Accessories. You will be seeing plenty of brides in bows this year!
Overskirts:
Another trend we have been seeing for the brides of 2024 is overskirts! The two-in-one look has been appealing for brides who want two dresses but do not want the added cost of another gown. Whether that be a full step-in skirt or a skirt that attaches at the side seams to show off the fitted gown underneath, brides are falling in love with the option to personalize their look!
One dress that brides have been loving with a full step-in skirt is Casablanca Jolie. On her own, Jolie is a pretty strapless sheath with all over laser-cut floral lace. Add the skirt over top and now she is transformed into a matching full lace ballgown!
Another overskirt that brides are going crazy over is the Morilee Malin overskirt. Made of a clean mikado, this skirt gives a ton of volume to the back of the gown while allowing the front of any fitted gown to have her moment. The Malin skirt even clasps in the front with an ultra-sweet bow on top!
Split Skirts:
So popular is the split skirt that many wedding dresses are made now with an option of this sexy peekaboo slit! This trend started last year and continues into 2024! Two of the most beautiful that we have seen this year are Madi Lane’s Samara and Sophia. Look how ethereal and romantic these are:
Notice the detachable jacket and sleeves? These are also carryover trends from 2023 that do not seem to be going away anytime soon!
Square Neck/Straight Across Necklines:
Brides with 2024 wedding dates have been absolutely swooning over gowns with square and straight across necklines. It did not matter what style, fabric, or desired embellishment – brides wanted square necklines! We began bringing in as many as we could to meet the demand, and we have had few that have been extremely popular. One square neck dress that we have been in love with is Evie Young Reagan! Reagan is a sheath gown with the coolest art-deco lace pattern and a little bit of shimmer.
Eddy K Chrissy is a stunning organza a-line with a little rouching (and a detachable bow!) that brides have been going crazy over! Prepare to see plenty of square and straight neck gowns gracing the aisle of venues everywhere.
Dramatic Trains:
Long, dramatic trains have always been desirable, but the 2024 brides MUST have them! Some of these trains have even been overtaking the desire for a cathedral veil. One such gown that our brides have been obsessed with is Beloved June.
At first glance, June is a simple (straight neckline) crepe gown with a little lace detail at the waist, but look from the back and prepare to be amazed. The cathedral lace train is to die for! It is gorgeous, light weight, and adds the perfect amount of detail to an otherwise simple dress.
A second gown with a bit more detail that has been a top contender of many is Kitty Chen Alyssa! This train is scalloped in shape with big botanical lace appliqués framing the hem. One look at Alyssa and you will understand why she tops every short list.
