One of the perks of a job in the bridal business – as if being in the bridal business isn’t already great enough – is going to bridal market in New York City. This past October we sent our consultants up and besides having a great time together, they also received quite an education.
Meeting with designers like Kitty Chen and Rina DiMontella, checking out the new tuxedo styles from Tuxedo by Sarno, and watching the runway shows is as eye-opening as it is exciting. They learned even more about construction, fabrics and laces, beadwork and embroidery, all while strengthening partnerships with our vendors and seeing the latest trends. The education is so important so we can offer our brides and grooms the best advice and selection available.
Some trends are here now like the intricate beaded backs and sleeves, others may take a little time to hit mainstream (like a whole lotta sheer…) but it was fantastic to experience all of them. It also gives us ideas as to how we can make our brides’ experiences better by suggesting easy and subtle changes to take their gown up a notch and at the same time, making the gown unique to her personal style.
That runway was smoking …

And the Darianna Girls were right there, ready to rate their favorites for the store!
One thing that really stood out from the experience was how far bridal separates have come and how versatile yet formal they can be. Justin Alexander has a beautiful new one that caught their eyes with a lace top and silk skirt that can be made in regular or tea length and the top can be worn tucked in or on the outside.
The versatility of separates, as well as the detachable trains and sleeves, back and arm jewelry, tops tucked in or left on the outside gives brides the option of two gowns in one without the price tag of purchasing two dresses.
At Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo, we take great pride in consulting our customers in the best and most up to date fashion. Make your bridal appointment with us in our Bucks County location and let our friendly, knowledgeable, and fun bridal and tuxedo consultants put a smile on your face and dress you to perfection!
