The Meeting:

Mark and I met in January 2013 in physical therapy school at Temple when both of our classes were at a conference in San Diego and have been together since then.

The Proposal:

August 8th, 2015 in LBI. I absolutely thought he was going to propose the night before since we were going to have dinner at our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia and was pretty bummed when I was wrong!  But little did I know, both of our families were totally in on the surprise for the proposal to happen in LBI where Mark’s parents own a beach house. My parents and sister had planned to come down to LBI for the weekend and my mom suggested that we take “family photos by the beach” before dinner. This was actually the ploy to get everyone to the beach for Mark to pop the question.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is a very important holiday, a truly American one.  While it is the official start of the holiday shopping season, that is not the meaning to us.  Strange as retailers, right?

To us, Thanksgiving is about making memories with family, friends, and loved ones.  Carrying on traditions and creating new ones, celebrating life, and appreciating the passing of time with all of the changes it brings.

Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo will always will be closed on Thanksgiving day and Black Friday.

All families deserve attention but it is never easy to find the time.  These are two days we close so that our team can reconnect, unplug from work, and recharge.

And hey, if shopping together is your family’s Black Friday tradition, then by all means shop!  Shop local, right?!  🙂

NYC Bridal Market – October 2016

One of the perks of a job in the bridal business – as if being in the bridal business isn’t already great enough – is going to bridal market in New York City.  This past October we sent our consultants up and besides having a great time together, they also received quite an education.

Meeting with designers like Kitty Chen and Rina DiMontella, checking out the new tuxedo styles from Tuxedo by Sarno, and watching the runway shows is as eye-opening as it is exciting.  They learned even more about construction, fabrics and laces, beadwork and embroidery, all while strengthening partnerships with our vendors and seeing the latest trends.  The education is so important so we can offer our brides and grooms the best advice and selection available.

Whether you are renting or purchasing tuxedos for your wedding there is one member who will take some special planning:  the Ring Bearer.

He will require a different timeline than the rest of the men, but not to worry. We’re about to tell you everything you need to know when dressing up the little guy for your wedding!

A ring bearer is in that stage of life when clothing only fits for a very short period of time. We highly recommend you do not spend the money to buy a tuxedo for him since he’ll grow out of it. A tuxedo rental makes the process easy, and you’ll be free to make easy quick adjustments and spend less than buying something he’ll only use once.

Destination Wedding – Jackson Hole, WY

destination weddingDo you dream of having your wedding in a gorgeous outdoor setting?  We found one of the most perfect places yet:  The Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

In mid-September we headed out there for a quick getaway.  We love to travel, and having never been to Wyoming it was truly an experience in everything from scenery (breathtaking!) to food (elk nachos!) to altitude (10,450’!).  It was pure beauty.  The temperatures were in the 70s, the majestic Aspens were full golden yellow, and there were acres and acres of unspoiled nature.

We met Daneene Jensen almost four years ago at a bridal show when she offered to do our models’ hair and makeup as a demonstration.  It was brilliant.  It worked for us to have our models looking amazing and for her to show her incredible skills.  In about 20 minutes she turned one from pretty to Vogue photo shoot.

Her company,  Daneene Jensen and Associates, is everything you want for your wedding day hair and make up.  She’s featured in Philly in Love, Borrowed and Blue, and Style Me Pretty, and is a Hall of Fame vendor on the Knot with 296 5-star reviews.

Most of them are small, but still crucial to the flow of the wedding to make sure the groom can enjoy his lovely bride and their wedding without worry.

This is not to say you won’t have plenty of help. Part of of your duties is to delegate and get the other groomsmen involved.
